Photo Dump

Alright folks, it’s been, what, four months since I last posted? The thought is just overwhelming because I’m so behind. But Olivia is with Grandma and Joseph is napping, so I figured a good old photo dump was the way to go. Unedited, unbeautified, not much narration, but better than nothing! So here it goes…

November 2013 – Thanksgiving in Punta Mita!
Two sick kids, two visits to the clinica. So not too many pictures from the trip. Joseph spent most of the week crying and laying on me (which is why there are so few photos), and when he finally recovered he developed a rash from the antibiotics. Not his best trip. Olivia went down with a nasty cough and managed to get an ear infection that hit its worst point in the middle of Thanksgiving dinner. Thankfully we’re going back in a few weeks and I FULLY plan on redeeming ourselves!

December 2013 – Christmas!
Such a fun Christmas this year. Olivia was SO into Santa, which made the whole month that much better.

February 2014 – Midwinter Break in Bend!
We all skied, and Olivia surprisingly loved it. Spent the week with the Haedrich’s, who we all love and adore. Too much fun.

Whew… I feel slightly better about myself now. I am a better about posting more regularly on Instagram (andrealperry) so feel free to find me on there :) .

Grandma Rosie

We lost my dear Grandma, Rose Marie Sherer, last week. While I am so sad that she is gone, I am comforted by the fact that she is no longer in pain. And I know that we most definitely have an angel watching over us.

My grandma was the kindest, sweetest, most loving person, and I feel so lucky to have seen her two weeks ago and to have had the opportunity to introduce her to Joseph. These pictures were taken on what was her last ‘good’ day, are they are so precious to me.

Lately

My dad came up back in June to visit and meet Joseph. Unfortunately Joseph got terribly sick and spent one night literally screaming for eight hours straight. A trip to the doctor found, well, nothing, and he was back to himself a few days later. And of course I got sick at the same time and ended up with an awful ear and sinus infection. So my poor dad basically was on babysitting duty his whole time here! And my plan for a sweet picture with grandpa? Well that flew out the window. So this is all I have. Sad. Sorry dad! Better luck next time? Thanks for all of your help, you saved us!!!

{Sick baby, uncooperative Olivia with face paint. Pretty much sums it up!}

 photo June20132_zps4997ae51.jpg

This kid is the wiggliest sleeper. Seriously. This supposed “miracle blanket” swaddler is supposed to be impossible to get out of? Just call him Houdini, in that case.
 photo June2013_zpsc4ce3f18.jpg

But man is he cute. Makes up for his less than desirable nighttime sleeping habits as of late!
 photo 7138_zps0b98558b.jpg

We’ve spent the last couple weekends having “family time” on the boat. I love me some summer boating action, that’s for sure! Olivia has become quite the fish, she’s obsessed with swimming in the lake and will stay in until she’s shivering (and still insist that she isn’t cold!).

The end. That was a random post, sorry. Just playing catch-up while J naps and O has quiet time.

7.7.13

As usual I’m waaaaay behind on posting, but I wanted to get something new up here so here’s a few pics I snapped today in the backyard.

Doug’s cousin Monica made Joseph this adorable bowtie onesie. Cutest gift idea ever, huh? This kid is so smiley, he just melts me. Almost makes up for the fact that he cried and screamed the ENTIRE drive from here to Oregon. For eight hours. Almost. But that’s a story for another post.

{totally overexposed that one but his expression was too cute not to share}

Olivia used her afternoon to make a mud pie. I’m so glad she topped it with fresh strawberries from our garden. She was quite proud of herself!
 photo 77133_zpsff2c5c19.jpg

She was insistent that I take a photo of her and her brother. Oh how she loves him. I think she’d smother him with love if she could. Literally, smother him – she won’t stay out of his face. It’s a delicate balance of letting her love on him as much as she wants and protecting him for his own safety. As you can tell he was super excited about her holding him.
 photo 77134_zpsfece1440.jpg

Well that’s it for now! It’s bedtime for this tired momma.

Rewind: Preschool Parties

Last month I had the opportunity to help out at two of Olivia’s preschool parties. Fun times. The kids are so cute! Although I don’t know that I could ever teach preschool, I just don’t think that I have that much patience (especially with the boys, scared of what I have coming to me!). Preschool teachers are saints.

First up: Valentines Day! The kids were SO excited, it was beyond darling. A few parent volunteers planned crafts for the kids and then brought them snack.

Grand entrance, sporting her lovely Valentine’s hat.

And of course a portrait of her chosen ensemble.
 photo ValentinesDay214133_zps344dd548.jpg

Then last week was “P” week (each week is a letter theme). They learned about presidents, made pizza, ate pickles, and had a parade. Hilarious.

Patriotic hat and flag.
 photo Olivia22812_zps87d58d6f.jpg

And the parade around the driveway. The kids had no clue what they were doing but it was still adorable.

Preschool rocks. And if anyone local is looking for a preschool, message me and I’ll give you details about Olivia’s because I think it’s beyond fabulous.

P.S. Baby update – a 4D ultrasound of the little guy! Kinda creepy, I know. It’s a picture of a picture so it’s not the clearest, but you get the idea.

Thanksgiving Preview

We’re missing Olivia’s preschool Thanksgiving “Friendship Lunch” next week, so her teacher let us come in this morning for a preview of a few of the songs they’ll be performing. Cutest. Thing. Ever. I seriously couldn’t stop smiling.

Here’s the costume they’ll all be sporting. Doesn’t get much more adorable than this. Love this kid!

And now, on to the show. Warning: it’s a long video (they sang quite a medley!).
